Mt Zion Historical Chapel formerly the Burton Baptist Church/First Baptist Church of Burton. Built in 1917 and moved out to Mt Zion Cemetery as of 1983 by the Burton Heritage Society. The society has been raising funds to restore the building for the past 10+ years and has had it leveled, re-roofed and the bell tower has been reframed. We need your help to continue the work to preserve our oldest church structure left in the community!

This is a 1939 postcard of the historic 1989 Burton Railroad Depot. The building has its own long history as the original was built in 1870 but burned in the fire of March 1989. After the rail closed in Burton, the building was bought by Max Zuehke and moved up the road next to Highway 290. It sat there for 30 years when it was bought by the Burton Heritage Society (thanks to Bill & Evelyn Shaw) and was moved back to its home site on Railroad Street.
